Appartament Piccolo is located within the most desirable location imaginable in ancient Rome. Just off a small and lovely square, the apartment is on the second floor of a family palazzo, which was built in the 16th and 17th centuries.
The private quarters contain a museum quality art collection that has never been open to the public or listed in any art books. The apartment is near the Tiber River next to Isola Tiberina (Tibernia Island) and the Teatro di Marcello. From here it is an easy walk to the Campo de' Fiori each morning to pick up flowers, vegetables and fresh bread at the daily morning open-air market. Later, guests can stroll to the Forum, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, or across the river to enchanting Trastevere, famous for its narrow streets and cozy restaurants. Yet, you need not cross the river to find a restaurant. One of the top restaurants in Rome, Piperno, is 3 blocks away and another of our favorites is in the back of this palazzo, which covers almost a block. The location is 3 or 4 blocks from the Torre Argentina Square, a transportation hub, where guests can catch trams and buses to the Vatican, the metro and the central train station.
Enter by a private door up the ancient winding stone steps to the second floor into this cute apartment just perfect for a couple. The apartment has a living room with sofa (convertible into a bed), TV, phone, and interior window to make the apartment more light and airy. This window leads from the living room to the entry hall and kitchen, which is small but adequately equipped for a week's stay in Rome and which includes a stove top, oven and small refrigerator. There is also a bedroom with double bed and a small clothes washer.
